Some patrons have noted longer wait times during busy hours, typically around 15 minutes, which can feel longer when hunger strikes. While most food is well-received, occasional variations in cooking times can leave the fish or chips slightly less than optimal for a few diners. Parking can also be a challenge during peak periods, though the location’s accessibility generally compensates for that. As with any chippy, you might find some days that the fish isn’t quite up to the usual high standards, depending on peak hours or supply.
Reviews are decent so decided to give Tammy’s a go - and discovered all the 5* ratings are accurate. Great food, good potions, good value for money, and the guys behind the counter were helpful and friendly.
Came across Tammy's on a weekend away in Brighton, after a long and arduous journey. The steep hill climb to the chippy helped build up our appetite and gave us a laugh along the way. Staff were friendly, food was freshly cooked. All in all, a worthwhile find.
Not a connaisseur in fish&chips as a Dutchman, but I loved the large fish&chips I got at Tammy’s. The chips&chicken nuggets were loved by our children as well. You could really taste that the chips were home made. After a 7 minute drive home the chips were still blazing hot, so that was great. Had to wait for about 15 minutes till our order was ready. The boys who were helping us, were really nice as well.
I haven't been to Tammy's for a while, so thought that as it's quite local to where I live, I would try. Didn't have to wait too long, by the friendly guys preparing the food. The Cod and chips that we ordered were great. Food was piping hot and the fish was succulent and lovely. In fact my family really felt sated and satisfied after the lovely meal. No doubt I'll definitely use this place again, seeing as they prepared good food at a reasonable price. Thanks for your service @ Tammy's 👍👍😊😊
We had a long drive ahead of us (Brighton to London) in the late afternoon. Tammy's Fish and chips was 6mins away from our location and were the first takeaway suggestion and it did not disappoint! The Fish and Chips was fresh out of the fryer and it was crisp, flavourful and delicious! We told ourselves we'd eat for 10mins and make way but we stayed put for 30mins and enjoyed the servings. Best Fish and Chips we have had and the price was perfect! Highly recommend and beautiful people running the shop!
Really really nice fish and chips! Service was super friendly, reasonably priced and freshly cooked fish and chips. My only improvement would be to give a more accurate waiting time
The chips are hand cut on site - find that in another fish n’ chop shop if you can; clue - you wont. Excellent frying. First class fish n’ chips.
You can't go wrong with their classic cod and chips, perfectly battered and fried to golden perfection. For something a little different, try the scampi or the chicken and mushroom pie.
Yes, the kids' menu features a delicious portion of fish and chips, perfect for young diners.
